Dragon Age: Legacy
Priest Abiel is my great grandfather. He is widely regarded as one of the most holy of priests ever to have lived. No one knows where he came from. It is almost as if he just materialized as an adult priest. He is well known as “The Great Judge of Orlais” He came during a violent and lawless time. By his teachings, and sometimes by his fire, he lead the kingdom back to the way of the Maker. Abiel had twelve sons, I am the grandson of his 12th son Abidan. Before his death, he made Abidan swear an oath to name his 12th son Absalom, and Absalom’s 12th son named Abaddon. He also made him swear never to let any of his decendents become priests or Mages. He never explained fully why, all he said was that we must defend the chantry and the kingdom against physical threats in the coming years. During Absalom’s time in the Orlesian Guard, rumors began to circulate about a force coming to power against the chantry and Orlais. The people also had started rebeling against the reform that my great grandfather fought for. Most people had already forgotten, not only about Abiel, but also against the reforms he brought. As soon as I joined the Orlesian Guard, the Qunari came to power. Ten years later they are still a major threat and have taken Kirkwall. I worry for the future of this world, and more specifically what legacy my 12 children are going to have in it.
